| The Root of the Problem |
|
It is Earthhope Action Network's notion
that there are two main factors contributing to
the earth's present condition,
and that they are leading
to the complete collapse of
life on earth as we now know it.
One concerns global warming and *overpopulation.
And the other, more insidious, is the reason, not only
for all of the conditions of human suffering and
the present environmental degradation,
but for the continuation of *overpopulation itself.
And that is the small but powerful group of wealthy
families and huge conglomo-corporations
that run this world.
| We have had a 180% turn around in our opinion of global warming here at Earthhope Action Network and now believe it to be an astounding hoax. |
* Earthhope Action Network does NOT sanction murder used to control human population:
the mass destruction of human populations through the spread of diseases such as A.I.D.S,
or environmental pollution, habitat destruction, etc., infanticide, or forced abortion.
Don't even go there. This is the joint job of
United Nations and U.S./Britain/Israel Incorporated

"What a stupendous, what an incomprehensible machine is man! Who can endure toil, famine, stripes, imprisonment & death itself in vindication of his own liberty, and the next moment ... inflict on his fellow men a bondage, one hour of which is fraught with more misery than ages of that which he rose in rebellion to oppose." If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth, - certainly the machine will wear out. If the injustice has a spring, or a pulley, or a rope, or a crank, exclusively for itself, then perhaps you may consider whether the remedy will not be worse than the evil; but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn. Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience |

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." Independent Draft #5 by Robert Hill
PREAMBLE
On November 30th, 1999 in Seattle, many inhabitants of Earth united in common purpose to protest the anti-democratic policies of the World Trade Organization. Tens of thousands of workers, farmers, students, senior citizens, environmentalist, artists, civil libertarians, religious leaders, veterans, social justice & human rights advocates, ethnic & social minority rights organizations, neighborhood, charitable, & community activists, and other concerned citizens of the Republic, gathered together to express their opposition to the loss of democracy in the face of overpowering onslaught of global corporate dominance. The loss of our citizen birthrights to government and civil society of the people, by the people, and for the people, has mobilized hundreds of thousands of us to exercise our rights to
speech, to public assembly, and to petition governments for a redress of our grievances.
STATEMENT OF GENERAL PRINCIPLES
We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free,non-violent, and prosperous world. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from any government, corporate, or other authoritarian power.
We believe that people and communities are more important than corporations and we oppose corporate power that undermines democratic institutions and due process.
We desire to work collectively to overcome the barriers to action and
fulfillment which we all face, empowering each and everyone one of us to transform ourselves and our world; and believe in the ability of citizens to participate in making key decisions about their lives.
We are committed to creating communities that work to heal our social, emotional, and spiritual isolation. Our diversity is our strength. We want to create a community that actively supports and respects thediverse perspectives of our members.
We believe that the Bill of Rights is an inviolable and sacred covenant
between the citizenry and their representatives in government; and without the guarantees of the First Amendment to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of worship, and the right to assemble and to petition our governments for a redress of grievances and to address injustice, that all other guarantees of law are rendered meaningless.
We challenge the plutocratic State and the artificial persons known as
corporations who act as their agents. Now is the time to hold accountable these paper instruments of domination and oppression which are responsible for war, famine, neglect, and destruction of our environment. They are not members of the global family; they are not able to escape being held responsible for their transgressions against our family and other creatures on this Earth. The original purpose of the creation of corporations was to serve the public interest.
By allowing corporate ownership and control of land and other resources, we have ceded our authority to maintain stewardship of our environment and prevent consolidation of power which threatens biological sustainability. Governments and corporations throughout history have operated on the principle that they are free to regulate the lives of individuals and seize the fruits of their labor without their consent.
Therefore, we hereby clearly state our decision to claim our natural world and prohibit the ownership of land, air, or water by corporations.
And, as we see it to be our sacred duty as citizens of the Republic to act upon our beliefs, we hereby convene this coalition for the purpose of educating people for citizen action based upon our common beliefs and to contribute to a new birth of citizen government in our time.

Independent Draft #2 by Ron Ginther
A POSSIBLE "STATEMENT OF COMMON PURPOSE"
FOR THE ANTI-W.T.O. COALITION
WE BELIEVE that the people of Seattle, the United States of America, and the world have a right, and an obligation, to protect and preserve those things that make human life meaningful:
A natural environment as free as possible from damage and defilement by human activity;
Economic practices that maintain the integrity (and biodiversity) of the natural environment, ensure that our foods and medicines are safe and
natural, and ensure meaningful work and a decent standard of living for all citizens;
Political structures free of influence of wealthy elites, in which the will
of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government;
A social environment in which life is not commercialized and commoditized, in which community life flourishes, and in which the inherent dignity and rights of all is respected, and specifically that all have access to health care, education, and other necessary social programs;
On the basis of the above, a policy of solving social problems without
recourse to conflict, coercion, punishment, and war.
WE ARE AWARE that the existing system of global mega-monopoly corporations, with their exclusive concern for profits and stock dividends at the expense of all else, is a fundamentally flawed, totalitarian system that works against every principle outlined above. Our general goals, therefore, are:
To work for the abolition of WTO, NAFTA, IMF, World Bank, Federal Reserve, and all such anti-democratic institutions, and for the ending of corporate domination by reversing the legal fiction that a corporation is a "person," and putting corporations once more under the oversight of state governments, as originally established;
To work to reverse the current Reagan-Clinton . trickle-down0 paradigm and establish an expanded . public sector0 in which health, education, housing, communications media, the arts, the penal system, and control-established through existing governments, local, state, and federal, where possible and/or outside of government where necessary;
To work for other steps to restrict harmful practices of big business and compel it to contribute to the common good;
To establish an on-going public discussion on what kind of
social/economic/political system might be established to replace the current one-with all ecological/democratic/humanistic proposals on the table.

Three Days that Shook the Bank and Exposed the
Fund
Following three months of international
organizing and planning; cross-country caravans; a week of teach-ins, rallys,
events; and several police incidents everything came to a head on the three days
April 15-17, 2000. On Saturday morning April 15th the convergence space at 13th
and Florida was raided with several arrests, displacing several hundred and
eliminating access for people to their sleeping bags, medicines, and food.
Authorities were embarrassed when the "incendiary devices" and "weapons" they
displayed to the media were identified as milk jugs and other items from the
recycling bins.
Over 600 people, including many students and even a Washington Post photographer were arrested Saturday night for "Rallying without a permit."
