My experience at Wikipedia was that it was the coldest, hollowest and creepiest place I have ever been in. I did quite a bit of poking around while I was there and still do. I won't be done poking until my mission is accomplished. I was involved in editing very controrversial political articles, and found that it was nearly impossible to bring neutrality into them. I was practically unable to bring reason into debates with the obviously Democrat editors of the U.S. Dem Party article. full story |

COPE Telecom Bill Affects Net Neutrality, Local Cable Franchises and Funding for Public Access |
This week, the House is expected to vote on Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement Act of 2006. The COPE bill would permit phone and cable co's. to operate Internet and other digital communications service as private networks, free of policy safeguards or governmental oversight. The bill would effectively end what is known as "net neutrality" which is the concept that that everyone, everywhere, should have free, universal and non-discriminatory access to all the Internet has to offer. It would permit isp's like AOL to charge fees for most online transactions and to prioritize emails based on the senders' willingness to pay.full story |
