We are teetering on the edge of a full-blown Gestapo state.

Patriot Act II: have you read it?

Aside from the fact that our privacy will be thoroughly violated (if it weren't already in the original Patriot Act) total enslavement of the American people is now impending. Here is a direct quote from Patriot Act II: 'All federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and probation offices, would be required to give the Attorney General, for inclusion in the databases, any DNA records, fingerprints, or other identification information that can be collected under this Subtitle. This provision also allows the Attorney General to use the information to detect, investigate, prosecute, prevent, or respond to terrorist activities, or other unlawful activities by suspected terrorists.'

If Congress ratifies Patriot Act II, and why shouldn't it - it voted for Patriot Act I without ever having read it - we will be stripped of all our constitutional rights, and those in a position of authority will be immune from all culpability - unprosecutable, unconvictable. Anyone ever convicted of any crime (down to a parking ticket), can be called an 'enemy combatant' or terrorist and can be whisked away in the middle of the night to some secret holding place never to be seen again. This means secretly executed for anyone who can't read between these transparent lines.

America will be in a police state. The power to carry out these laws will be transferred down from the Federal Government e.g. the FBI to your local police station.

Information gathering will be illegal. A direct quote from Patriot Act II: 'Any person who engages in clandestine intelligence gathering activities for a foreign power would qualify as an "agent of a foreign power," regardless of whether those activities are federal crimes.' This means news reporting is now illegal.

In short we will be utterly without defense, stripped of our most fundamental human rights, those rights clearly delineated in our constituion. The authorities and powers that be will be in the position to reign without restraint, and gun us down as the enemy. We will be in a complete Gestapo dictatorship.

It is time to stop the silence.

It is time for Americans to stand together and stand up to these dictators.

It is time to reclaim the constitution of the United States of America.
